JOHN SINGLETON ABANDONS "A-TEAM"

Director John Singleton has taken his name off the long-stalled adaptation of the 80s TV series “The A-Team” after Fox decided to once again move the project back a year.

Noting script development issues, Fox pushed the project back from its June 12, 2009 release date to June 11, 2010. But news around the blogosphere says different. According to comingsoon.net, Fox execs decided to move “A-Team” to make room for an “Alvin and the Chipmunks” sequel. Whatever the reason for the delay, a frustrated Mr. Singleton, who had put up with previous delays to the project, all centering around script issues, decided to walk away from the project.

No word on who will replace Mr. Singleton as director or if his departure will delay the film any further.
