80s Pop Star El DeBarge Hit with 2-Year Jail Sentence

Signer El DeBarge was sentenced to two years in California State Prison on Tuesday (Oct. 28) for probation violation.

DeBarge, who found success in the 80s with his hit “Rhythm Of The Night,” was arrested in Los Angeles earlier this month for possession of a controlled substance, police later discovered he had two warrants out for his arrest in connection to a August 2007 domestic violence arrest.

The judge ordered DeBarge, 47, to begin serving his time immediately at the Lancaster, CA prison.
