There appears to be some resolution for 50 Cent in his long custody battle with the mother of his son, Marquise.
50, aka Curtis Jackson, was in a Long Island court yesterday (Oct. 22), and so was Shaniqua Tompkins. The two, along with their respective attorneys, went before a family court judge in Central Islip, N.Y where Mr. Jackson was granted visitation.
Although the visits are limited -he’ll have physical custody of his son one weekend every month, half of the boy’s winter and spring breaks from school and one month in the summer- according to the rapper’s attorney Brett Kimmel, Mr. Jackson is elated that the situation has finally been resolved saying, “50 is pleased this has been settled and looks forward to spending some quality time with his son.”

Tensions between Mr. Jackson and Ms. Tompkins peaked earlier this year when a judge granted Mr. Jackson a request to evict her from the Long Island home he brought for her and Marquise to live in. After Ms. Tompkins stated publicly that she would not leave the residence, the house was burned to the ground. Ms. Tompkins accused Mr. Jackson of masterminding the blaze; he in turn filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against her.
While authorities do suspect arson was the cause of the fire, they have not named Mr. Jackson as a possible suspect.
