The 17-year-old son of reggae star Spragga Benz was shot a killed by police in Kingston, Jamaica on Sunday (Aug 24).
Gunshots rang out after police stopped two men on a bicycle in the Kingston 8 neighborhood. According to police, as they approached one of the two men opened fire. The police returned shots as the two men fled. After a search of the area police say they found Carlton Grant Jr. with several gun shot wounds and a .45 semi automatic pistol.
But neighborhood resident have a different twist on events claiming the teen was shot after he surrendered to police.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Spragga Benz, real name Carlton Grant Sr. was in New York at the time of the incident.
