Terrance Beasley aka “Cap”, one of T.I.‘s best friends, was murdered in Smith State Prison in Glenville, GA this week.

Beasley was arrested in 2011 for violating his parole after an altercation at an Atlanta recording studio. He was charged with assault and possession of a firearm after fighting with a man accused of stealing a necklace from Atlanta rapper Killer Mike. The studio was owned by T.I, but he was not present during the fight.

Beasley was initially sentenced to life in 2001 for the murder of an Atlanta man at a birthday party in 1998. Lawyers were later able to prove self-defense and he was released in 2006.

Beasley was 40 years old at the time of his death. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Georgia Department of Corrections are investigating the death as a homicide. He was reportedly found dead following an altercation with another inmate.
