The filing confirms the rumors, as it’s been reported that the WAP rapper grew tired of looking “the other way”.
“Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time [they’ve been together], but Cardi looked the other way because of the baby,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She also didn’t want to be embarrassed. But she’s had enough.”
The couple called it quits back in 2018 when screenshots of inappropriate texts allegedly between Offset and rapper Cuban Doll were posted online.
The pair reconciled soon after.
In an interview with Vogue last year, Cardi explained why she decided to stay with Offset despite his cheating,
“When me and my husband got into our issues—you know, he cheated and everything—and I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me; a lot of women felt disappointed in me. But it’s real-life shit… People that be in marriages for years, when they say till death do us part, they not talking about little arguments like if you leave the fridge open. That’s including everything.”
But now, three years after their nuptials, with cheating – alleged or true – playing a continued role in their relationship, reality has outweighed Cardi’s desire for a lasting marriage.
