“I Think I Love My Wife” star Steve Buscemi is making his way to cable TV.

Buscemi is in negotiations to star in Martin Scorsese’s new HBO series “Boardwalk Empire.”

Set in the 1920s, “Boardwalk Empire” tells the story of the development of Atlantic City into a gambling mecca. Buscemi will play Nucky Johnson a prohibition-era liquor distributor. Fans of “The Sopranos” will remember Buscemi for his stint on the HBO hit series, as Tony Blundetto, Tony Soprano’s cousin.

Scorsese will direct the pilot and serve as executive producer along with Mark Wahlberg (executive producer of “Entourage” and “In Treatment”), writer Terrence Winter and Stephen Levinson.

“Boardwalk Empire” is still in the development stage and no premiere date has been released.
