The 1980s hit mini series “V” about alien lizards who invade earth and eat the human population will be returning to TV screens as ABC is currently developing a remake if the sci-fi classic.
Scott Peters, co-creator and producer of “The 4400” will executive produce the project. Mr. Peters had previously said he wasn’t interested in doing another sci-fi series after the cancellation of “4400” quickly changes his mind when he was approached with “V”, “Whenever I mention ‘V’ to anybody, they still have a lot of good memories about the original movie and series,” Mr. Peters said. “Everybody has that imagery of their uniforms, or the visitor eating a hamster. It’s a science fiction icon and too good to pass up.”
Warner Bros. TV, the production company of the original series is also onboard for the remake though original “V” writer-producer-director Kenneth Johnson will not be involved in the new version.
No word on a production start date or premiere date as yet.
