After rumors of negotiations hit the web earlier this month execs at CBS announced Monday that Laurence Fishburne has signed on to the hit crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” replacing William Petersen who plays Gil Grissom on the show.
In a brief statement Mr. Fishburne said he was “elated and delighted” at the prospect of joining the “CSI” cast. He beat out several actors who were also vying for the spot including veteran actor John Malkovich.
Mr. Fishburne will make his first appearance a forensics scientist on the small screen hit when the show’s 10th season debuts in October.
