Sam Jones, best know for his portrayal of Pete Ross on the Superman TV series called “Smallville”, faces serious prison time after he was busted earlier this morning at his home in Canoga Park, Los Angeles by Drug Enforcement Administration agents and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 10,000 oxycodone pills.
A federal indictment against the actor, which covers April through July of last year, states that Jones met with a Drug Enforcement Administration undercover agent posing as an oxycodone supplier to discuss purchasing the drug.
The indictment goes on to state that Jones gave his two other conspirators $27,000. The two co-conspirators later gave the undercover agent $75,000 for 9,000 placebo tablets on July 28, 2008.
Feds contend that Jones is a co-conspirator in a series of Hollywood drug deals dating from April through July of 2008.
The 26-year-old actor is staring down at 20 years in prison if convicted.
Jones has also appeared on a number of other television shows including, “CSI”, “ER”, “The Practice” and the film “Glory Road”.
