Let’s revisit Rapsody‘s Ibtihaj. The title of the song is a shout out to Ibtihaj Muhammad, who became the first American woman to wear a hijab while competing for the United States during the 2016 Olympics. She walked away with the bronze medal. In this homage to “Liquid Swords”, the title track from Wu Tang Clan‘s GZA‘s 1995 album, the Philly rapper brings the Wu legend himself up from the 36 Chambers for an unexpected verse, with additional vocals by D’Angelo. The video is a treat for Wu fans as elements of the Clan’s influence are sprinkled throughout.
