All Endings Are Inevitable

HBO's Inside The NFL

After 31 years… it’s a wrap.

So I was in last night and around 2am got to watching some of the shows I had saved on my DVR. After flipping through a couple of options I came across HBO’s critically acclaimed show ‘Inside The NFL’. Within the first 2 minutes host Bob Costas announces this is the last show, not of the season, but of the series. I kind of grew up on this show and it was undoubtedly THE BEST when it came to the extensive football coverage and more importantly the way it was presented. Simply unparalleled in its brilliance. It’s only fitting that the show went out on what is the greatest football game I or many others will ever see, SuperBowl XLII .

Inside the NFLAn ending is the inevitable conclusion of anything that ever begins. Typically we as a society, gloss over this inevitability merely taking things for granted until it no longer exists. Then we sit and wonder how we could have enjoyed that particular person, place or thing.. just a bit more.

Chances are if you’re on this site… you remember the series finale of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

The finality of it all..

or more recently.. The Sopranos

Since we identify with television in most cases more than any other medium, a finale of an endeared show strikes close to home, but all things obviously end.

Friendships… careers.. bonds.. Dynasties ming, Rocafella or television shows.. even this illustrious website will one day be no more. So basically.. enjoy shit while you can.. don’t get caught up on labels or what might be.. revel in what is now.

  1. Amen, BKS. Then again, I still have my Emo going from Kanye’s performance at the Grammy’s tonite.

By the time the Fresh Prince was off the air I had stopped watching for like 2 seasons.

You know which series finales fucked me up? Quantum Leap and The Wonder Years. Fuckery, I tells ya.

^^Co fuckin sign Rey Rey, I was gutted about that Quantum Leap finale. And Hilary was too nice in Fresh Prince.

Personally the final ending of Eerie Indiana had me all fucked up.

  5. Yeah, fucked up how they did Sam on the finale of Quantum (nh). But they dropped the ball with Eerie Indiana, that was a good show and they threw it under the bus. but better than not having an ending.

Best show ever with no ending/resolution: Odyssey 5
