Police are investigating a shootout that left one man dead and two others injured in the early Sunday morning hours (July 12).

The bloodshed began just after 1:00 a.m. in East Flatbush, Brooklyn (NY) outside of a baby shower that was being thrown for the wife of actor Jamie Hector (Heroes, Max Payne). Cops say nearly 50 shots were exchanged during the gun battle that left 17-year-old Linton Williams dead at the scene.

Two other men Walter Parker, 22, and Andrew Filson, 32, were also hit during the exchange. Parker was taken to Brookdale University Hospital in stable condition after he managed to flag down a passing ambulance. Filson was rushed to Downstate Medical Center by car but was shot again while exiting the vehicle by individuals who followed him from the original shooting scene. Filson was later transfer to Kings County Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Police responding to the E. 93rd Street incident recovered two handguns along with 46 shell casings, but are still on the hunt for the shooters. A motive has not been revealed and little is known about what set the events in motion.

Hector, who gained critical acclaim starring as Marlo Stanfield in HBO’s The Wire, was at the baby shower, but it’s not known if he had left before the violence started.
