Stars/fans in shock over death of actress Natalie Desselle-Reid

Natalie Desselle-Reid, the talented actress who appeared in the films B.A.P.S and Cinderella, died Monday from colon cancer, she was 54.

Her death was announced via Instagram.

“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning from colon cancer. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife. Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Desselle-Reid’s death was a surprise to many. Holly Robinson-Peete, whose mom Dolores represented Desselle-Reid, was devastated by the news writing on Twitter:

“Just absolutely decimated by this news…Actress Natalie Desselle, a bright shining star passed away this morning. I got to know her when my mom was managing her. She will be so missed…sending out prayers to her children and husband. Rest In Peace, Sweet Girl.”

Desselle’s co-star in B.A.P.S, Halle Berry, was also shocked and devastated by the news, releasing the following statement via Twitter:

Clearly, Hollywood is rocked as cancer once again takes another rising star far too soon.
