Rashad and Jones are no strangers to the Tennessee Williams drama; in 2008 they starred alongside Anika Noni Rose in the Broadway run of the stage play. Lathan replaces Rose in the London run.
As in the Broadway version, Rashad’s sister, Debbie Allen, will direct the London performances. The show is scheduled to open on December 1st at the Novello Theater and run through April 10, 2010.
A Raisin in the Sun, which featured Sean ‘P. Diddy‘ Combs in his debut on stage opposite Lathan and Rashad, enjoyed a stint on Broadway and was later made into a ABC television movie starring the Broadway cast.
