After Dwyane Wade went on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to put a stoplight on his family’s affairs, announcing his 12-year-old son had chosen to transition to a girl —changing his name from Zion to Zaya, Louisiana rapper, Boosie, went on a tirade on Instagram, voicing his disapproval, ”I gotta say something about this sh*t, bro. Dwyane Wade, you gone too f*cking far, dawg. That is a male. A 12-year-old. At 12, they don’t even know what they next meal gon’ be. They don’t have sh*t figured out yet. He might meet a woman, anything, at 16 and fall in love with her. But his d*ck be gone—how he gon’—like, bruh, you going too far, dawg.

Don’t cut his d*ck off, bruh. Like, bruh, for real, if he gon’ be gay, let him be gay. But don’t cut his d*ck off, bruh. Don’t—and dress him as a woman, dawg. He’s 12 years old. He’s not up there year. He hasn’t made his final decisions yet. Don’t cut his f*cking d*ck off, Dwyane Wade, bruh. You f*cking trippin’, dawg.”

The social media backlash came of course, with accusation of Boosie being transphobic and ignorant. Boosie brushed critics off, and has held firm to his original comment, even with his mom telling him to “stay out people’s business”.

Speaking with Baller Alert, Boosie refused to even use the “girl” pronoun when referring to Wade’s kid, “People gotta understand that’s how I feel … Even my momma got on my ass yesterday. My momma called me early in the morning and got on my ass, talking about, ‘Stay off social media! That’s they family! You stay out people’s business …’ But I was just speaking how I felt. Everybody got their own opinions in life. Everyone feels a certain type of way about certain things … When the kids involved, it’s tender to my heart.”
