With Trump’s re-election campaign on the skids, it’s Kanye West to the rescue with distractions

As if America didn’t have enough to deal with, here comes news that Kanye West is throwing his hat into the 2020 presidential race.

West made the announcement via Twitter, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION”

West has said in the past that he had planned on running for the office in the future. The question is, is he serious; should we take him seriously? Quick answer, no. No, we should not take him seriously.

While the reasoning and strategy behind his announcement is not clear (he could just be looking for nothing more than attention), it’s actually too late for him to get on the ballot in a number of states.

There are actually people excited about his announcement (*cough* Ty Dolla $ign *cough*). But, for the most part, West’s announcement was met with skepticism.

West has made no secret of his “love” for Donald Trump; he’s a HUGE supporter and this so-called announcement is seen by many as just a way to split the black vote, in turn helping daddy-Trump, stabilize his wobbly re-election campaign by pulling votes away from Joe Biden.

A lot of people also think this is just West’s way of drumming up publicly for his new album. Or maybe he’s just having another mental episode.

So far, West has yet to announce his plans for the country, which may also be an indication that he is not serious.
