Atlanta, GA police are investigating the death of Ashley “AJ” Jewell at a strip club last week. The club’s manager Frederick Richardson was charged on Monday (Oct. 5) with voluntary manslaughter after being released from the hospital for injuries he incurred during the Friday night fight. Jewell died of massive head injuries.

Jewell, who’s said to have been an investor in the Body Tap strip club, fought with Richardson, 45, over what Lt. Keith Meadows, head of Atlanta’s homicide unit, claims to be an issue of control over business decisions, “They had some words about a business decision,” said Lt. Keith Meadows, head of Atlanta Police’s homicide unit. “It seems like it was a struggle for power over the club… Apparently they just didn’t like each other. A.J. felt like he deserved more respect from Richardson and it wasn’t given to him.”

Jewell, 34, had been engaged to Kandi Burruss, who appears on the reality show Real Housewives of Atlanta. The engagement was called off in August.
