Lucy Liu has been added to the cast of Spike TV’s “Afro Samurai: Resurrection.” The “Kill Bill” star will voice the character of Sio, a sadistic mastermind out to destroy Afro Samurai.
“When we first created the character of Sio, we knew that Lucy Liu would be perfect for the role. We thought we owed it to ourselves to at least ask her, never dreaming that she would say yes,” says the film’s executive producer, Leo Chu.
“Resurrection“ is a sequel to Spike TV’s 2007 “Afro Samurai” mini series. The 2-hour animated cable movie is expected to air in January and also stars Mark Hamill and Samuel L. Jackson as Afro Samurai.
