Peggy Lipton passes away at 72

Actress Peggy Lipton has died at the age of 72.

Lipton rose to fame on the 1960s police drama, Mod Squad, alongside Clarence Williams III and Michael Cole. She death was announced on Saturday after battling cancer.

Lipton found early fame, modeling at the age of 15 and starring in The John Forsythe Show at 19. Over her 50-year career, Lipton appeared in numerous programs including Bewitched, The Invaders, The Magical World of Disney, and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

Lipton played a major role in the 1990s television phenomenon, Twin Peaks. And revival her role when the show was rebooted in 2017.

In 1974 Lipton married music producer Quincy Jones. The couple had two daughters, Kidada and Rashida Jones.

In a statement announcing her death her daughters said of Lipton, “She made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side… We feel so lucky for every moment we spent with her.”
