In a case of life imitating art, the stars of HBO’s hit vampire series True Blood have gotten engaged.
Stephen Moyer who plays the undead Bill Compton recently popped the question to his on-screen/off-screen girlfriend Anna Paquin on a Hawaiian vacation.
Paquin says the proposal came as a surprise to her. Her True Blood character Sookie Stackhouse accepted a marriage proposal from vampire Bill on the show’s season finale last week.
“The proposal was very intimate and quite surprising for her, I think, and we were by ourselves at dinner in Hawaii and…I surprised her,” said Moyer. “But it was something that surprised me probably more than it surprised her.”
Speaking to E! Online Moyer said he first fell for Paquin while rehearsing lines. He tells the gossip site he was impressed by, and attracted to, her acting skills, “Firstly, I fell in love with her talent. We were actually improvising and trying stuff, like ‘It doesn’t work this way, let’s do it another way,’ and so immediately I was very excited about that.
“And then after a few weeks, we’d finished working and I was back in London and she was in New York and I really, really missed her…”
