Former rapper Master P, who’s real name is Percy Robert Miller, announced he has officially changed his entertainment name to P. Miller. Mr. Miller said he had grown up and out of the Master P. moniker. “I’m changing my name because Master. P is who I used to be. I call it my childhood, and P. Miller marks my manhood… People grow mentally and spiritually through life experiences.

“When you come from hip-hop it’s almost impossible to move past the stereotypes associated with it. I’ve branched out into so many different arenas that range from being the first African-American to have a clothing line at Wal-Mart to writing books and speaking on Capitol Hill, but all that gets overshadowed because I come from the hip-hop industry.
“There are a lot of people out there who are afraid to grow up and change but I’m not, and P. Miller is the evolution of me, Percy Miller the entrepreneur, the businessman.”
Mr. Miller made a name for himself in the 90’s with a string of hit rap albums he released under his No Limits record label. In addition to his clothing line Mr. Miller has had a number of acting roles and television appearances. Last year he competed in ABC’s Dancing with the Stars” and has appeared along side his son Lil Romeo, in his son’s Nickelodeon television show Romeo!
