Arrested Development returning to TV, theaters

Arrested Development star Jason Bateman tweeted today that the cult favorite show, which was yanked off the air after three seasons, will be returning to TV screens with 10 episodes followed by a full-length movie.

Fans have longed for the show’s return to airwaves since it’s 2006 cancellation. As the show’s creator Mitchell Hurwitz explained to the NY Times the long delay can be blamed of factors such as intellectual properties and broadcast rights, “We don’t completely own the property, there are business people involved and studios and that kind of thing.”

Alongside Bateman the show also starred Will Arnett, David Cross, Tony Hale, Michael Cera, Portia De Rossi, Jessica Walter and Alia Shawkat. With executive producer Ron Howard providing narration.
