Judge Dismisses Good Hair Lawsuit

Chris Rock

A plagiarism lawsuit filed against Chris Rock has been tossed out of court.

On Thursday (Oct. 8) a judge dismissed the case, finding no merit for the $5 million lawsuit filed against Rock by Regina Kimbell.

Kimbell had claimed that Rock stole her idea for the documentary film Good Hair after seeing her film, My Nappy Roots, on the same topic in 2007. Rock countered that the only similarities between the to films was the subject matter, African American hair.

Good Hair opened at #14 on the box office charts. Selling $1.1 million in tickets over the weekend.
