A birthday celebration for Dwight Grant, a.k.a. Beanie Sigel, erupted in violence over the weekend leaving one person badly injured.
Sigel hosted guests at Philadelphia’s Club Solo on Friday night (Mar. 6) in celebration of his 35th birthday. Shots rang out as the former Roc-A-Fella rapper was performing on stage. A 24-year-old man identified as Tyheem Baker was shot in the chest. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The party atmosphere quickly degenerated as fighting escalated outside the venue.
According to Fortunato Perri Jr., Sigel’s attorney, his client was only made aware of the shooting after he left the stage, “He was told later that something happened, but he didn’t know who was involved.”
Police have not released any word on a motive or suspect.
