DMX Facing Extended Sentence After Assault On Prison Guard

DMX Mug Shot

DMX is in trouble again and this time it may cost him 8 year of his life.

The former rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, began serving a 90-day sentence on January 30 in Arizona’s Tent City jail for drug possession and animal cruelty charges and is now facing the very real possibility of having his sentence extended after he reportedly assaulted a Sheriff’s detention officer. If proven to be true the assault would constitute a violation of Simmons’ probation and could land him in prison for the next 8 years.

According to sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Brian Lee, Simmons has been confined to solitary confinement since February 8 after refusing to report for his designated job and getting into a verbal altercation with prison guards, he will likely remain in lockdown for another month because of this latest incident.

There’s been no word on whether the guard who was the victim of the assault was also involved in the February 8 incident.
