The Game praises XXXTentacion; reflects the rapper’s music, talent, and murder

The Game has been on the road recently promoting his new album Born 2 Rap and stopped by for an interview with Big Boy. You can watch the interview below and listen as The Game express explains that many of the lyrics on this final album pay homage to fallen rap artists like Nipsey Hussle and XXXTentacion.

Both were murdered earlier this year; The Game says that if Jahseh Onfroy, better known as XXXTentacion, wouldn’t have been murdered this year he would probably have reached the level of fame and stardom that Travis Scott is at right now. There’s no telling what the late artist could’ve accomplished if he were alive today.

“…it is evident from the music he did [put] out before his passing that he was standing on the cusp of greatness. It was important for me to show [XXXTentacion] love because he gave his life — he didn’t die when he wasn’t a hip-hop artist, he died after he was a hip-hop artist and the lure of being a hip-hop artist made his murderers go after the name. They weren’t after Jahseh, they were after XXX,” said The Game. “That dude was so talented. I feel like, by now, he would have been, like, Travis Scott level.”

You can catch the full interview below or on Big Boy’s YouTube channel, BigBoyTV.
