Over the weekend in Germany Simone Biles cemented her place in history, shattering records in gymnastics to become the most decorated athlete in her sport.
Sunday’s performance at the FIG Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany capped a week that saw the four-time Olympic gold medalist debut new signature routines, including the a triple-double, which consists of a double backflip with three twists, and a double-double dismount from the balance beam, which includes a double-twisting double backflip. The double-double dismount will now be recognized at the “Biles.”

At the end of Gymnastics World Championships events on Sunday Biles had won 5 gold medals, bringing her total medal count to 25, the most of anyone gymnast who has ever participated in the sport. The previous record was 23, held by Vitaly Scherbo of Belarus.
