Love and Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris expects to be released from the Feds after serving six years

Mendeecees Harris, L&HH

Love and Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris is said to have been released from Fairton Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey earlier last week, 2 years shy of his 8 year sentence. He was sentenced in 2015 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess heroin and cocaine.

Harris filmed along side his wife Yandy Smith-Harris on the New York edition of L&HH where the public watched as the details of the case unfolded. Support was poured upon Yandy as she prepared to raise the couples’ 3 children alone. Yandy has a 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter with Mendeecees and has helped him raise his two other sons. Yandy has also taken in a foster daughter, a teenager, since her husband has been away.

Prosecutors claimed that Mendeecees was involved in drug activity from 2005 to 2012 including an operation that distributed drugs in Rochester New York between 2006 and 2008. The received sentence was the least that could be given in the plea deal. In addition to that, Harris was allegedly forced to forfeit almost $200,000 from his reality show earnings and surrender his $111,000 Audi R8 sports car.

Considering his reduced sentence, rumors are circulating of him possibly snitching on Juelz Santana and Vado to get out early. When asked by about that rumor Mendeecees replied “I didn’t know them when they were in the streets. [Vado] was never selling drugs… [The fact that] people believe everything they read is sad.”

Two posts and a few pictures on Mendeecees’ IG page show him along side a few other inmates dated November 10, 2019. One post read “Had to take a pic with my guys before I leave them.” The other read “This is the perfect time to be smiling.” However there is no post confirming his actual or anticipated release date.

Amy Rose at popularsuperstar.com alleges that cameras were rolling to catch the release of Mendeecees and that he will return for season 10 of the show. VH1 has yet to confirm his release from prison or return to the show.
