Fiat Chrysler is calling their new Dodge Durango “the most powerful SUV ever.” Over the years Fiat Chrysler has been working to transform the Dodge brand into a power and performance standout. While both the Challenger and Charger have sold Hellcat models in the past, the refreshed 2021 Durango Hellcat SRT will be the first SUV to carry the Hellcat badge. A 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine pushes out 710 horsepower and 645 lb/feet of torque, taking this 5,600 lb SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Top speed is a dizzying 180 mph. 20-inch wheels are standard, as are heated and ventilated Nappa leather and suede seats. While not a full redesign, the new Durango features updates throughout, including a 10.1-inch touch-screen infotainment system, and tweaks driver cockpit. The Dodge Durango Hellcat SRT arrives in showrooms this fall, but won’t be delivered to buyers until early 2021. It’s also a limited release. The Hellcat model will only be available for the 2021 model year, with fewer than 2,000 expected to be built. So, if you have your heart set on a high-performance SUV mark your calendar now.
