DMX Arrested at Arizona Mall on False ID Charge

Former rap star DMX has been arrested again. He was apprehended at a Phoenix, Arizona mall on Saturday (July 19) for allegedly giving false personal information to avoid medical expenses.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s department DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, used the name “Troy Jones” when he checked into Scottsdale’s Mayo Clinic in April, in hopes of not paying the $7,500 bill.

Mr. Simmons, 37, has been under investigation by the Maricopa County Sheriff department since his arrest last year on suspicion of animal neglect, he was charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty in that case after authorities dug up the remains of three bull dogs and seized 12 other dogs from his property.

It’s been a long month for Mr. Simmons, who’s had two other run-ins with police. Earlier this month he was arrest at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court, one week after his arrest in Miami for attempting to purchase cocaine and marijuana.
