It was reported that Tory Lanez was arrested Sunday morning, July 12, after an argument led to shots fired at a house party in the Hollywood Hills. Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion, who was also at the party, fled the scene in an SUV.
The vehicle was stopped shortly after by police. A gun was found. Lanez was placed under arrest. Booked. And released after posting bail.
As reports of the arrest became public knowledge, fans and trolls alike began focusing on the details of the arrest, specifically Lanez’s real name, Daystar Peterson, his height, 5’3”, and his weight, 120.
Jokes were told. Laughs were had. But in all the laughter we missed the part were someone shot Megan Thee Stallion and she was rushed to surgery.
The bizarre events were confirmed by Megan Thee Stallion on Instagram, Wednesday, July 15, saying she was injured in the shooting incident and had to have surgery to save her foot:
“I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.
“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”
Meg continued to say in her statement that she was “’Incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night. I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”
The revelation that she was not only shot, but had to have surgery shocked her fans all across social media.

It’s not yet known who shot Meg, or how the events unfolded. Lanez was arrested at the scene of the traffic stop and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle. Her was released after posting $35,000 bail. It’s also not yet known what role Kylie Jenner, who was also in attendance at the party, played in the events.
