The last 24 hours have not been kind for Gayle King. After her interview with Lisa Leslie questioning Kobe Bryant‘s past sex assault case aired, she has been dragged on social media by lots of people including well known celebrities.

One of those celebrities was Snoop Dog who called out King for her lack of respect for Bryant. Snoop didn’t mince no words either.

“Gayle King, you’re out of pocket for that s***. Way out of pocket. What do you gain from that?… We expect more from you Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why are you all attacking us? We your people. You ain’t coming after f***ing Harvey Weinstein ass, asking those dumba** questions. I’m sick of y’all. I wanna call you one. Is it ok if I call her one? Funky doghead bi***. How dare you try to tarnish my homeboy’s reputation, punk motherf*****. Respect the family and back off, b****, before we come get you.”

For her part, King has been trying to defend herself and she blames CBS for what happened.

“Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview,” [It was] totally out of context and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring.
“I’ve been advised to say nothing, just let it go. ‘People will drag you, people will troll you. It will be over in a couple of days.’ But that’s not good enough for me because I really want people to understand what happened here.”
“For the network to take the most salacious part, when taken out of context, and put it up online … is very upsetting to me,” King said.

When you look at the actual video, it didn’t look like CBS cut anything and that in this recent online video of King explaining herself, it sounds like she is making excuses for the mistake she made in trying to exploit Kobe Bryant’s death which didn’t go over well.
