Judge tells Soulja Boy to sit down and be humble, sentenced to 8 months in jail

Soulja Boy has spent the last 19 days in a Los Angeles jail, and will be serving an additional 240 days in jail for violating an earlier weapons probation.

A Van Nuys judge handed down the 240-day jail term to the the rapper(?, very loose term nowadays) as a result of his arrest in March after police found ammunition in his California home, a probation violation.

TMZ reports that the judge has considered hitting Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, with a 2-year sentence, but settled on the lesser sentence so Soulja Boy would be able to pursue career opportunities.

In addition to the 240 days in jail, he will also gave to serve 265 hours of community service.

In December 2014 Soulja Boy was convicted of carrying a loaded firearm in public and sentenced to 24 months of probation. He violated that arrangement in December 2016 after a gun was found in his home, according to police. That police encounter led to two felonies charges and a misdemeanor. In March 2017 he was given five years probation after being convicted on one felony count.
