Remy, real name Reminisce Smith, was convicted of assault and illegal weapons possession in March of 2008. The case against her followed the shooting of Makeda Barnes-Joseph, a long-time friend Remy had accused of stealing money. On the evening of July 2007, Remy confronted Barnes-Joseph over $3,000 in missing money. Remy ended up shooting Barnes-Joseph, and a judge sentenced her to 8 years in prison.

Remy was released on parole in August 2014 after six years in prison.

Things haven’t been easy going for Remy since her release. In May, Remy surrendered to police following accusations that she assaulted Love and Hip-Hop co-star Brittney Taylor at a Pretty Lou Benefit Concert at Irving Plaza in New York.

Remy’s parole officially ended on August 1st.
